Hello and thank you for checking out my auction for the special 20th Anniversary edition release of the Master Grade RX-78-2 Gundam model kit, also known as the Coating Version MG Gundam.

For the 20th Anniversary of Gundam, Bandai released a small collection of Master Grade Gundam model kits whose parts received a special spray coat treatment to give them a semi-reflective, metallic look. Once assembled, they will display very nicely thanks to the special coating on the parts. As these kits were designed to be snap fit and require no painting (although detailing the panel lines with a Gundam Marker certainly won’t hurt), your completed model will look like the samples in the photos printed on the box, with the exception of the 1/20 scale figure of pilot Amuro Ray, who comes molded in a flesh tone and will require painting.

This kit is identical to the first MG Gundam released in the mid-1990s, so you can expect the same features, such as:

- Transformable Core Fighter

- Core Block module with scaled pilot figure sitting in the cockpit so he is visible wihen the Gundam’s cockpit hatch open

- Working hardpoints for storing the beam rifle, hyper bazooka and shield

- Opening hatches on the head, arms and legs to show off the mechanical details underneath the armor

- beam saber blades are molded in translucent pink to simulate the beam effect

- backpack mounted boosters can be articulated

- tons of points of articulation for awesome poseability

- stickers and decals included to round out the minor details so you don’t have to paint this model at all. Decals for the alternative G-3 version is included too

- painting/color guide for the exclusive Amuro Ray figure, not found in the original MG Gundam kit as it did not include the Amuro Ray figure

Kit is brand new unbuilt with all of the parts still sealed in factory original plastic bags. Kit is a 1998 original issue. Box has a few spots of surface wear from storage, most notably on the front cover where the old price sticker used to be (located above the right shoulder). It is otherwise in great shape, especially considering its age. The kit has been part of my private collection since its release and has been kept safely away from direct sunlight and humidity.
